The Bible

I have written to him the great things of My Law, but they were accounted as a strange thing (Hosea 8:12). It was C.H. Spurgeon, the great English preacher, who said “If you were more than a rumour, floating about respectable society, than a book had been inspired by God, an honest man would examine the claims of that book.” The fact of the Bible cannot be denied. The Bible is here to read. The Bible must be to our advantage…

1) The Bible, Its Making

The Bible is no common book; there is none like it. The secret of its strength is “The prophecy, came not in old time by the will of man, but Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:21). Its truth is self-evident. It has been burned but it has withstood every fire kindled against it. Why? It is not man-made but it is God made.

2) The Bible, Its Message.

Its message is great. It deals with the greatest of all subjects. The soul of man. The great eternity. The tragedy of man’s sin. The triumph of God’s mercy. The coming of God in Christ to save sinners. The way of salvation through blood. Heaven and Hell.

3) The Bible, Its Misuse.

It has been misused. Many do not read it. Do You? Many condemn it because they say it is hard to understand. Some hate the Bible because it condemns their sin. Let me tell you. This book will either keep you from sin or sin will keep you from the book. Take up and read the Bible.
