Wyresdale Children's Homes - Spring 2025 Update

Founders: Lucy and Mervyn France

Lucy and Mervyn France continue their compassionate mission supporting vulnerable children through Wyresdale Children's Homes, with impactful projects operating in Burma (Myanmar), Thailand, and Kenya. Their dedication is bringing tangible hope and transforming the lives of many young people in challenging environments.

Burma (Myanmar):

  • Despite the difficulties posed by political instability and military conflict, the children's homes in Burma remain resilient and thriving.

  • Ginzi, who manages the local homes alongside her husband Saram, courageously cares for children facing profound trauma and hardship. Recent additions to the home include baby John, whose early life was marred by significant adversity.

  • Positive updates include teenagers Jayju and Songhu flourishing, and siblings Da-Sun and Ninsun thriving with support and discovering talents such as guitar playing. Former residents Nunu and Moshi are actively contributing to their community despite ongoing regional tensions..

Thailand:

  • Regular visits to Mae-Salong have allowed continued support for local initiatives, including helping frail elderly community members such as Mrs Wong. Lucy and Mervyn’s support remains essential to community projects and translating crucial meetings.

Kenya:

  • Mervyn is preparing for another impactful visit, providing essential supplies such as knitted clothing and blankets for children.

  • Construction of a new classroom block with integrated assembly facilities is eagerly anticipated, promising significant benefits for educational provision and community development.

Lucy and Mervyn express profound gratitude for the ongoing generous support and encourage continued prayer and practical backing for future initiatives. Their heartfelt commitment ensures continued progress and lasting positive change in the lives of many children across these regions
